The images are abstract and begin with just getting to work in the studio. The materials selected often have as much say in what transpires as the inspiration that motivated the image. Environmental concerns continue with the print series, “Arctic Chorus” and “Water”. It seemed appropriate to use the sun and water to develop the images on the plate. In all, the images are a personal narrative filtered through everyday life, intuition and history.
The exhibition at Merced College Art Gallery was a two person invitational exhibition showing work by Sandra Beard and Janice Nakashima.
